Gasoline prices in Vietnam rose slightly Thursday afternoon after hitting a three-year low last week.

The popular fuel RON95 went up 0.66% to VND19,760 (US$0.80) per liter.

Biofuel E5 RON92 increased by 0.26% to VND18,940. Diesel continued to fall with a 0.7% decline to VND17,040.

Regulators said that fuel prices in the last seven days were affected by the U.S. Federal Reserve lowering its interest rates, a storm in the Gulf of Mexico, declining purchases from China, and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine tension.

Vietnam’s fuel supply in the first eight months comprised 58% of domestic production and 42% imports, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
