In the luxurious space of The Reverie Saigon Hotel, the exchange and trade cooperation event between CEO Club and EuroCham took place on December 10, 2024 with the participation of 35 leading businesses in Vietnam. The event marks an important milestone in strengthening cooperation and sharing experiences between businesses in a constantly developing economic context.

At noon on December 10, 2024, CEO club coordinated with The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) to organize a luncheon event for trade exchange, investment and business connection for leading business communities of both sides.
Looking Back at 2024: Challenges and Overcoming Difficulties
In his opening speech, Mr. Johan Nyvene, Vice President of CEO Club and CEO of HSC, frankly shared about the unpleasant challenges and difficulties that the business community has faced in 2024, and how businesses industry has overcome the context of global economic fluctuations, which most clearly demonstrates the volatile reality of the stock market in Vietnam. Mr. Johan Nyvene said:
“A notable fact is that foreigners were net sellers, and this number was probably around $4 billion. However, I want to emphasize that the overwhelming rest of the stock market essentially says a lot about how the Vietnamese economy is progressing. Although Vietnam’s economy has been performing quite well, the stock market partly reflects the sentiment of foreign investors about Vietnam. We must frankly admit that the continued departure of foreign investors is a surprise and unpleasant thing for us.”

Looking forward to 2025, Vietnam’s economy is forecast to develop optimistically and be attractive to all foreign investors in the financial market in general. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s forecast of striving for 8% GDP growth in 2025 shows many signs of positive economic growth in Vietnam, rekindling hope and opening up trade cooperation opportunities for businesses.

At the event, CEO Club was pleased to welcome Ms. Delphine Rousselet, CEO of EuroCham Vietnam, to speak at the event. She said, “This event marks an important milestone for the first cooperation between CEO Club and EuroCham are an opportunity for the European business community to meet and connect commercially with potential partners in Vietnam, and open up more opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.”

During the meeting, members had in-depth analysis of the areas that are expected to be growth drivers in 2025 and open up many opportunities for cooperation between the parties. At the same time, it is a testament to the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and development aspirations of the Vietnamese business community. With determination and strategic vision, businesses are gradually asserting their position in the international economic arena.
The event ended in an atmosphere of excitement and hope, with a commitment to continue supporting and promoting the development of the business community in 2025.
