In the opening speech at the event, Ms. Dang Minh Phuong – President of the CEO Club, emphasized the shared vision between the business communities of the two countries. She also reaffirmed the Club’s commitment to nurturing and connecting meaningful regional partnerships.

Both sides pledged to boost business exchanges and support joint ventures that promote regional prosperity. The luncheon also offered a valuable networking platform for members to exchange insights, discuss projects, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Insights from Malaysia: Trade Growth and Future Prospects

Representing MATRADE, Ms. Zaimah Osman shared an overview of Malaysia’s trade performance in 2025, highlighting the country’s role as one of the world’s leading trading nations, with commercial relationships spanning more than 200 countries. According to data from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), Malaysia recorded the highest cumulative trade value for January–September 2025, continuing its strong performance from 2024.
Bilateral trade between Malaysia and Vietnam also remains dynamic — reaching USD 18.14 billion in 2024, up significantly from USD 10.25 billion in 2021. Key sectors driving this growth include electronics, machinery, food and eco-living products, home and garden goods, and green technology.
“Vietnam remains a strategic partner in Malaysia’s trade expansion in ASEAN. Our focus is to deepen cooperation in sustainable industries and digital trade,” Ms. Zaimah affirmed.
At the luncheon, the CEO Club and MBCV outlined a shared direction that underscores the business community’s role in achieving broader economic goals. Both sides expressed their determination to increase trade activities and aim for USD 20 billion in bilateral trade turnover by 2030.
